Partner has herpes

So my partner had one very small, sore, red area on his penis a couple of months ago, went to GUM clinic and told it was herpes given aciclovir and it all cleared up. It's the first time he's had it and has been fine since.
I'm now 26 weeks pregnant, we stopped having sex as soon as he got it, but obviously we were having unprotected sex before then so I know he could already of passed it to me. I've never had any symptoms of it but I know I could have the virus already. I asked my midwife about it but didnt get a very clear answer, just that it can be dangerous if I have symptoms in third trimester and to ask to see my gp, which obviously isnt that easy at the moment. I have read about if I have symptoms at the time of labour then it can be really harmful to baby, so now I'm terrified. Guess I'm just looking to see if anyone has any experience of this or advice on what I need to do.
Sorry for the essay and thanks for reading if you do x

It entirely depends on whether you’ve had the infection, or not. If you’ve already had it then the risk to baby is extremely low (0-3% for a vaginal birth, c-section not recommended and no tests for baby post delivery) but if you acquire it in the third trimester, especially 34-40 weeks then the chance of passing to baby is 41% (recommend c-section and tests for baby post birth) - so as you can see the risk varies dramatically. You could always pay for a private test to see if you have the antibodies which would indicate you’ve already had it. The other option is to not have sex with your partner from 34 weeks (or earlier I’d suggest) to avoid transmission.
