Furlough and Maternity Pay

Hello,

So my company may be putting me into furlough tomorrow due to Coronavirus and will pay me up to 80% of my wage.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant so in the 'qualifying weeks' for maternity pay. Does anyone know of this will affect my qualification for SMP? 😢

I have worked for my employer for a certain amount of years so they give a different maternity package.. 10 weeks of my full wage and then going into SMP for the remaining 29. Ladies whose employers provide the government stated 90% of their average pay for 6 weeks are best clarifying with their employers/HR that this average is NOT calculated on an average of furlough wage or SSP as this is lower than usual.

Eligibility for SMP in itself will not be affected as being furloughed still classes as continuous employment :)

@Shimmy22 Thank you for that, that is exactly what I have been told by my HR department the last few days x
