Anyone know if I can still attend my growth scan tomorrow? Hospital aren't picking up.

I'm 35 weeks.

Yes it’s a medical need

Coffeenofilter · 23/03/2020 20:39

Medical appointments were one of the things listed as approved to go out for, so I'd say your scan is going ahead.

halcyondays · 23/03/2020 20:39

Yes

m0therofdragons · 23/03/2020 20:40

Yes. They will have called you if not. They may have added rules - following national guidance it would be to attend either on your own or with a maximum of one person.

Jojo19834 · 23/03/2020 20:40

Yes it is medical

cushioncovers · 23/03/2020 20:41

Yes it's a medical need. Just don't take any other children or parents etc.

stanski · 23/03/2020 20:42

Yes, medical

ViserionTheDragon · 23/03/2020 20:42

Yes, definitely go.

kayleesmithy · 23/03/2020 20:46

Our scan dept is open tomorrow but for the mum only. Preferably no partners and definitely no children.

Persipan · 23/03/2020 20:58

Yes, as it's a medical need, but I'd suggest you go alone.

Now, whether I can take the cat to the vet tomorrow as planned, that's my question...

BlusteryShowers · 23/03/2020 20:59

I've also got an antenatal appointment tomorrow. My DH is a police officer on shift and I have a toddler.

What do I do?

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 23/03/2020 22:03

Do not take your cat to the vet tomorrow unless it is an emergency

cushioncovers · 23/03/2020 22:16

Our local antenatal clinic has a strict no other children policy at the moment. I'm guessing a toddler that will stay in their buggy might be ok if you're sat away from others but not a small child that's gonna run around and touch everything 🤷🏻‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 23/03/2020 22:18

Yes

BlusteryShowers · 23/03/2020 22:23

He's not in a buggy anymore, he's almost three.

Do i send him to my mum's? Is this classed as her caring for a vulnerable person?

Cyclewidow46 · 23/03/2020 22:58

It's hard I know but at my hospital you would be turned away from the antenatal clinic, triage or scan department if you took your child along.
Many of our ANC appointments are now over the telephone if possible.
No children are allowed in the hospital unless they are the patient.

BlusteryShowers · 23/03/2020 23:10

So i'm no further forward

I either

A) do not attend my 38 weeks appointment, which is for the good of my unborn child because I need to care for my son in isolation

Or

B) I break isolation and ask my mum to take care of my son and attend the appointment.

kittykat7210 · 24/03/2020 00:23

Break isolation and ask your mum (as long as she’s not a vulnerable person)

We will have to break isolation whenever I go into labour, 2 year old won’t be allowed on the labour ward!

kayleesmithy · 24/03/2020 10:41

Just been to my appointment and a lady who came into the hospital was turned away at reception. She was with a little girl (I'm assuming her daughter) and they weren't allowed into the hospital.
