Nothing worked for me OP, not even the meds I got from my GP. I was horrendously nauseous from 6 weeks until 17 weeks (although it did start to ease off from 14/15 weeks). The only thing that helped (slightly) was eating little and often, even though I didn't feel like it. I grazed constantly and that helped to dampen down the sticky feeling.

Hang in there, I thought it was never going to end but it does (and what a relief it is)!

How many weeks are you? X

Newmumtobe20 · 23/03/2020 12:25

I’m in the 5 week mark not too sure as with everything going on I can’t visit the doctors yet I’m waiting to be referred to a midwife
I feel this constant wave of nausea but not always with vomiting
Hopefully it passes soon

I'm 28 weeks and have only committed twice during my full pregnancy, it was the constant nausea that was the killer. I hope it does pass sooner rather than later for you, everyone's different.

If it doesn't and you are struggling, your GO can prescribe antiemetic medication (cyclizine is the first one they'll try) and it helps for many people so don't be afraid to ask if you need it.

Congratulations on your pregnancy x

Camouflage · 23/03/2020 12:33

Vomitted* not committed 🙈

Newmumtobe20 · 23/03/2020 13:30

That’s great to know and your lucky to have only vomited twice I vomited around 8 times yesterday alone I’ve barely got the energy to move tbh
Thank you
And same to you

I was the same as you OP, constant waves of nausea and vomiting about 3-5 times a day. I also had constant fatigue, couldn’t sleep much and couldn’t bear the smell of my husband! I’m sorry to say nothing helped other than just letting it pass, it was worst from 6weeks to 14ish weeks. I’m now almost 20 weeks and fully human againGrin

Travel sickness bands made a difference (£10 from boots) and eating small amounts regularly helps too. I only ate things that weren’t too gross when they came up, mainly toast, apples, oranges and ready salted crisps. Couldn’t stand much else until about 12 weeks when it slowly begun to get better.

Newmumtobe20 · 23/03/2020 13:54

That’s exactly what I’m like at the moment everything is making me sick even certain smells like my partner had a breakfast sandwich yesterday with egg in and I had to leave the room
A lot of people have said them bands are good I may have to try one and hope it helps

I feel for you as this is how I felt this time round. 17 weeks was when I got over it. I found bananas helped with sickness a bit. Hopefully it passes soon as I know it really is horrible.

Newmumtobe20 · 23/03/2020 17:32

Thanks for the advice but I can’t stand bananas at the moment

Oh my god, I feel your pain. I am pregnant for the first time too and like you, nausea started at around week 5 and i was just hit by it. It is horrendeous but I am about 13 weeks now and although it's still very very bad some days to the point I dont eat anything I have had some good days so hang in there. I have lost a stone and a bit so the only thing I can say is eat when you can. Don't wait even a minute. If you feel like you can eat something, eat jt straigt away. Foods I have all the time are boiled/roasted potatoes, bread etc.
Also lemonade makes me feel so much better but need to be careful not to have it on am empty stomach.
I did get cyclizine from my doctor and have had 2-3pills only because I was trying to avoid medications as much as possible but there were a few days where I couldnt manage the nausea and it did help
Good luck! Hope you feel better soon!

GalaxyGirl24 · 23/03/2020 20:15

Hey, not sure I read correctly but did you say you were sick 8 times yesterday! I know it's madness with being able to get to docs but I'd mention it to GP to see what constitutes hyperemesis!

The only thing that helped me with constant nausea in weeks 6-14 was really sharp lemonade, eating carbs every 2 hours, going to bed early and not being near any smells at all! I did try the Sea bands and they helped a bit! I was never properly sick though.

Solomon1212 · 23/03/2020 20:16

I swore by ginger nuts for all of mine. Kept the sickness at bay for me X

Newmumtobe20 · 24/03/2020 05:01

It’s more acid than actual sock so not sure if this is something I need to call the doctors for like there’s heaving and retching but just like stomach acid coming up it’s all frothy and white tmi sorry girls just need all the help and advice I can get to make sure I do everything correctly
Any help would be great full x
