I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, I had hyperememsis at the beginning of the pregnancy, SPD and sciatica pain started in second trimester and now in the last trimester as well as the SPD and usual extreme heartburn/tiredness etc. I keep getting a pain in my back and at the front kind of around where your bra goes (even though I take mine off at every opportunity) I've tried paracetamol, warm baths and hot water bottles but it's been 3 days now and I'm just so mentally beaten down by pregnancy I just want to cry. People who have chronic pain are unbelievably amazing to cope with it all the time!

I've just seen that this sort of pain could be a sign of pre eclampsia, starting to worry abit now, not due to see midwife until Monday as she's on annual leave. I'm home alone with DS 2 😳

No experience I'm afraid, but can you call and speak to a different midwife?

SagaBauer · 20/03/2020 10:41

You really need to speak to the day assessment unit/triage at the hospital. If they think it could be pre-eclampsia then they will definitely want to see you and check BP/urine etc. Have you got anyone who could look after your son if you do need to go?

I do worry I'm panicking over nothing as at each of my midwife appointments my blood pressure has been fine and she usually checks my wee sample (although this wasn't done at my last appointment), so surely it would of been picked up? I just don't want to be phoning the hospital with a pulled muscle when I know they are busy with much more important things

@sprite25 you are an important thing!

Obviously don't just turn up there or anything (unless there is a major emergency) but they are there to help you so no harm in calling. Either it'll put your mind at rest, or they will identify an actual problem and you can get it sorted before it becomes a major issue.

Please please get checked just in case, I do know how you feel though I am 35 weeks and have had similar issues over this pregnancy. It has really affected my mental health.

Today I am in a lot of pain with SPD along with chest pain that travels into my neck and jaw.
I would happily drive my car into a tree if I could but I can't because I have other DC I have to think about.

I txt my normal midwife who said its very unlikely to be anything to worry about as my blood pressure has been fine throughout the pregnancy which put my mind at rest, so I took some paracetamol and played with DS for a bit to distract myself which worked for a little while but then I had a sandwich for lunch which seems to have set iit off again so maybe just really bad indigestion? I just can't wait for this baby to come out

Sorry also was meant to put on there @fatisnotafeeling I hope you have someone supportive irl, although it's frustrating as he doesn't know how it feels my DH is very helpful when I'm feeling down and having a cry
