Partners of pregnant women

What’s the guidance around partners of pregnant women? We all know that pregnant women are to self isolate for 12 weeks but what’s the point if their partners are still working? Asking for a friend as luckily my partner is a gardener and works alone so not too worried.

The regulation is not to self isolate for them.
I guess just being careful overall and wash hands regularly and sanitise well after work.

My husband still works and he just keeps good hygiene so less risk for me or the kids to catch anything anyways.

I guess in theory, if the pregnant woman is self isolating she won't be in contact with her partner anyway. I know that's obviously more difficult in practice

There isn’t any guidance - unfortunately we all just need to accept that it’s impossible to completely isolate or the world would stop. We just need to be rest assured that social distancing as pregnant women is better not not social distancing at all - even if we do come in to contact with those who have ventured into the outside world.

I was having this conversation with DH. He’s still working and DD is still at school. My parents and I are all in the at risk categories for different reasons and deciding who takes DD to school is proving difficult.

I'm moving back to my parents, who are also self isolating. Shit period

Wondering this too. Have been told not to come into work for 2 weeks with a view to it being longer and they're sorting me out WFH (but will only be about 20% of my normal duties). DH is still going into work until they close the schools and DS is still going to nursery.

Because the statistics apparently show that 30% of virus transmission happens at work, 30% from social settings eg pub, public transport and 30% in the home

So staying home is protecting you from 60% of the likely transmissions
