Hi guys!

15 weeks pregnant and wondering if I can eat non lion marked eggs?

My partner went out to Tesco and there were non left so got these ones from a local shop. They are British eggs and have a UK stamp on them in red ink.

They are going in chocolate brownies so will be cooked so not like I'll be chugging back raw yokes!

What do you lot think?

Will be fine as long as there fully cooked :)
So in cakes that's definitely fine

As long as you don’t like the centres really squidgy and undercooked.

As long as the egg is fully cooked its fine

What does the lion mean?

Miltonj · 18/03/2020 15:12

Thought so guys! I'll try and make them a bit more cooked than usual - I do like them goey!

Lion marked means they have been vaccinated against salmonella and are safe to eat raw or runny

Eggs cook really quickly so even if the brownie is gooey inside it’s likely the egg will be cooked!
