Early morning shopping hour - are we included?

I’m just wondering if this hour that is happening at supermarkets would included pregnant women. We have been classed in the vulnerable group and I have things I need to get but don’t want to go to the supermarket as it’s just too crowded when we are meant to be social distancing, and it’s proved impossible to get an online slot, what do you think?

I’d love to know this too. Am 34 weeks and possibly undiagnosed asthmatic (long story, shit GP). Can’t get any online shopping delivered for 2 weeks and have been unable to get any baby formula or nappies as well as essentials for our family! Went to the supermarket a few days ago and was pushed and shoved horrendously. One woman even slammed my bump with her trolley and just tutted at me rolling her eyes! Awful behaviour from humanity

I'd say so!
But I now do click and collect as Easier

I'd say no - the issue is the elderly especially those on their own being able to get to shops before produce runs low - presumably you have a fit and well partner so this wouldn't apply to you

No, it's for the elderly here. It was advertised as "elderly and vulnerable", but they've been clear that it is intended for old people.

Although I doubt they'd turn you away, it's advisory as far as I know - I'd just be prepared to be treated with some disdain from other shoppers.

I sympathise on the shopping front. Fiancé has CP so I've been trying to get everything, it's crazy and there's barely any food. It's bad for everyone... Can your partner not sort out food if you're struggling?

Nicecupofcoco · 18/03/2020 13:59

I'd say no too. Think this just for the elderly. Otherwise you've then got to include the other vulnerable group... Underlying health conditions and how would they prove it? Or you could get people taking advantage I guess saying they are expecting but early days... Again how do they prove it? I'm 31 weeks also and my small local Co op was packed earlier. No chance of me being able to stay two metres away from anyone.

I don’t think so...

I accept I’m in the higher risk category but I don’t see myself as vulnerable!

My husband can get bits if I need them and we have bits we can cobble together in emergencies/if our supplies run out!

Also I don’t think pregnant women would be as emotionally affected by distributions in their routine/shopping items and possibly have a more of a flexible palate than the elderly why may have specific/set food preferences
