Should I cancel all further midwife appointments?

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and have four midwife appointments left plus a 36 week scan at the hospital.

The midwife appointments are at my local GP’s surgery and I’m feeling very anxious at the thought of having to sit in a waiting room surrounded by ill people.

The surgery isn’t the nicest of places at the best of times - there’s never any loo roll in the toilet for one thing.

Do I really need to continue with the urine tests and bump measuring or is it safer to cancel these appointments and stay at home now?

Lots of hand gel, lots of hand washing and won’t be touching anything I don’t need to x

I had my 36 week midwife appointment yesterday . I texted my midwife beforehand and asked that she let me know by text when she was ready to see me so I didn't have to wait at the GP reception. She was more than happy to do it and I waited in the car. Having said that, my GP practice had started triaging people on the phone/online and there was nobody there 😳

They have since cancelled my antenatal classes and my midwife advised that next time she might see me at home instead which my OH is not particularly happy about.

I have an appointment with the hospital antenatal hypertension dept on Thursday, because I had pre-eclampsia with my first baby. Are they just going to check my blood pressure and tell me take aspirin? If so then I don't see the point in travelling into London just for that...

I am also 33+ weeks. Have next appointment in 2 weeks. My appointment has been moved already to an earlier time. So doctors opens say 8-12, but I have been given a 7am appointment so I shouldn't bump into many people, and can hopefully be in and out by 7.30am. Here at next appointment, they are due to take bloods, dip test, they check for tokimaplosis, scan baby, and they do an internal swab to check for any viruses before the birth (not uk).

I haven’t had my whooping cough vaccine yet (I’m 21 weeks and they only do it from 20
weeks in my area) so I don’t know what will happen with that and I have a MW appointment in a fortnight so again, not sure what will happen. So much uncertainty atm, I’m not even sure whether to attend my dental check up on Thursday anymore!

@wondering7777 they should have hand sanitizer in there.

Thanks. I'm getting more and more concerned about attending this next appointment the nearer it gets.

I had an antenatal appointment yesterday and was given some sticks to test my urine at home so I don't need to come in to see the midwives as often. I already have a blood pressure cuff.
