I know there is never a right time but my DH and I would both really like to have a baby in the next two years. Ideally we are ready after our honeymoon in August to start TTC but I'm a bit worried about work. Both DH and I have good, stable jobs, we own our house and have a good combined income. However, my job involves sitting exams over the next 2 years and I'm wondering if we should wait until my exams are over before we start TTC? I'm wondering if anyone has done exams pregnant or had to sit professional exams whilst looking after a baby and how you managed? My DH will be brilliant and has already said he will look after baby whilst I'm revising if we decided to have a baby next year! I'm also having an inner debate about what it would mean for my career. We have already agreed we will do shared parental and split everything equally and considering I'm going to spend the next 40 years in my career, delaying exams for maternity leave and it taking it slightly longer for me to work my way up doesn't seem an issue! I would absolutely love to have a baby next year and the thought of waiting until end of 2022 when my exams will be over makes me sad!

Well I know there are some amazing mums out there who have studied and gone through exams with a baby but omg it would be my worst nightmare. Babies are extremely time consuming and take a lot of energy out of you.

I had a miserable first 20 weeks and it really damaged my study time (professional exam coming up next week - eek!). Of course you might have a really easy pregnancy. I'd also hate to be studying with a young baby as it would be such a shame to spoil that first year by thinking about exams.

If you are older of course it might be better not to wait as sadly you can't assume that your/your partner's fertility is perfect.

@wannabemummy25 I am just coming to the end of a 2 year masters level qualification. I had 1 exam and 3 assignments in each year.
I got pregnant in September 2019 at which point I had 1 assignment, an exam in January and a final 7000 research paper to write. I was 20 weeks when I sat the exam and it was actually ok (get the results this week) I had a few moments of brain fog but overall don't feel it went horrendously.
Baby girl is due beginning of June, technically the qualification ends in July, but all I have left is the research report which I am half way through and aiming to submit mid May.
I'm glad I got this qualification done pre children as it's a lot of work and the final level for my career to progress. I just pray I have passed the exam as resitting with a new born will not be good!
