Sub chorionic haematoma

I’ve been for a private scan today - at 9+2 mainly for reassurance because I’ve been incredibly anxious.
She said the baby looked fine - was measuring 9+3 and was moving around and measured the HR which she said was fine too.
On the notes it says that there is a sub chorionic haematoma which she sort of mentioned as she was talking and said there was a bleed, but she didn’t seem very concerned. It is measuring 16mm that’s the biggest bit, what it says on the report.
So obviously I’ve come home, googled and freaked out, should I be worried? Should I expect bleeding? I’ve only had some very light spotted a couple of weeks ago when I wiped nothing since.
Any advice/help would be appreciated

Hi lovely, I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding for almost 4 weeks straight. I had a private scan when it started because I was so worried, everything was fine and baby had a strong heartbeat. A week later I had a big bleed, EPU scanned and again baby was all okay. Another week later I had a crazy bleed and passed a blood clot around the size of my palm, my bathroom looked like a murder scene. Again believing it was the end I went to EPU who scanned and baby was fine. 2/3 visits they could see a subchronic haematoma, but couldn't tell the cause. I had my 12 week scan on Wednesday and she measured the haematoma (all others struggled to measure with the equipment they had I think) at 4cm x 3.5cm and 1cm thick. The bleed is nowhere near the placenta so baby is quite happy chilling away in there. Honestly, yours is tiny in comparison, so I really wouldn't worry. If she didn't seem too worried there isn't much need for you to worry. I know it's easier said than done, and in all honesty I came around to the idea that I wouldn't have a baby by the end of this. Don't get my wrong, 12 weeks is still early days, but I'm nowhere as near worried as I have been. I also found that taking a week of rest really helped as I have quite an active job. If you do experience any bleeding, please do get to your local EPU, but just remember it's not always the worst. If you need a hand hold at any point please let me know Flowers

I had the same thing spotted at my 20 week scan. They called me back in for another scan at a later date (around 35 weeks) just to make sure it had reabsorbed and it had so try not to worry. Obviously if you have any symptoms you are concerned about get checked out but I was fine.

@Ajahd thank you so much for sharing what you’ve been through, I’m glad that things are looking ok at the moment. I know what you mean, it’s so hard not to worry, the scan looked good and it went for reassurance and now this is driving me crazy - this baby is so longed for - as I’m sure many pregnancies on here are - and I don’t know how I would cope if something went wrong.
