High street Maternity clothes are so boring

Was a pretty depressing browse around the shops today. It's like they think I want to look like a potato draped in a plain sack for several months. Hope online is better but not feeling hopeful x

I found the sand. I’ve posted this on another thread but I remember crying in Debenhams at how frumpy it all is and then realising I find Debenhams frumpy anyway so why would I suddenly like their maternity wear?

Try top shop, Asos, H&M and a few bits from boohoo. All actually decent (apart from boohoo & Asos being a little hit and miss but they are anyway!)

I agree. You can get away with regular, stretchy clothes for a while though. I just bought maternity tights and leggings and wore with stretchy dresses and tops from where I usually shop.

It took me ages to find comfy maternity jeans so if you're looking at getting those I recommend H&M over the bump. Top shop ones are really uncomfortable.

I don't rate Asos, all the maternity clothes I got from there were terrible quality.

I recommend monki! Nice big stuff and doesn't tend to be minging florals.
Most of their dresses are basically maternity wear you can put a belt on!

BuffaloCauliflower · 12/03/2020 19:00

H&M and ASOS all looks good

RhymingRabbit3 · 12/03/2020 19:05

Maternity dresses generally seem to be shapeless and drab. I havent worn really any during my pregnancy. I have mostly worn maternity jeans with tops - stretchy tops rather than baggy ones. My two favourite ones were actually from lidl!

Thanks ladies I'll have a look and see if there are any nices. Think the problem is I like rock/alternative style clothing, not very girly. Might need to start a business haha

I got a couple of nice bits from ASOS but its so hit and miss. One top I ordered had one sleeve hemmed and the other not.

All my actual decent stuff I got from Seraphine, but in reading your latest post about you liking rock/alternate stuff im not sure it'll up your street!

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 13/03/2020 11:27

Just had a look at Monki - I wish I knew about them before now! Am 39 weeks so its a bit late, but i'll defo be buying some of their stuff. Is the quality decent @anotherypasswordtoremember?

The Bluebelle range have been my favourite tbh. They are available through ASOS. Without exception when I’ve worn a Bluebelle maternity item, I’ve received compliments. And they’ve lasted through my previous pregnancy and my current (I’m 8 months now) and in good condition

SarahD19 · 13/03/2020 11:38

Seraphine and Isabelle Oliver are nice but also very expensive 🙈🙈

SarahD19 · 13/03/2020 11:47

A link to some of the Bluebelle range. Even better if in a sale! www.lyst.com/shop/bluebelle-maternity-clothing/

OP if you start that business, you’ve got a definite customer here!! I’m living in leggings and long black vest tops with boots because I’ve found very little that I like.
Got a few bits from boohoo but found their sizing and quality to be a bit hit and miss lately.
