Can anyone help me with dates?

Hi everyone,

Sorry probably sounds stupid but I’m a bit confused about how to know how many weeks you are... I know its dated from LMP but I was on the pill, came off 2nd feb and took a test two days ago which said 2-3 weeks. I can have a guess at the date of conception because there aren’t many options but obviously I have no LMP to go on?

You are dated from LMP as that is the last time you were 100% not pregnant. The clearblue tests date from conception so aren't accurate and cause confusion with NHS dating. Your dating scan is there to give you a more accurate timescale and it isn't unusual for it to move a week or two in cases like yours. Based on your info the NHS would likely say you are about 5 weeks pregnant

@Mammyofasuperbaby thank you. That’s what I thought!

Sorry forgot to say that if you add 2 weeks to the clear blue test it gives you a better timescale for you to work from as the first 2 weeks of pregnancy you haven't even conceived yet (confusing I know but that's how it is)

@Mammyofasuperbaby thank you, that makes more sense now

Just an update i did another clear blue digital test and it has now changed to 3+ (was showing 2-3 weeks on Tuesday) does that mean I can be fairly certain of the dates?

Pretty much. I'd say you are 5 ish weeks and continue with that going forward until your scan when it may change a bit but that's normal.
Just be aware that the midwife may send you for an early scan just to double check as scans are more accurate than a pregnancy test as everyone's hcg levels can be different
