I write this as I sit in bed having just bawled my eyes out because of the unrelenting pain.

My midwife said the doctors can’t really help me with this sciatica pain so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

I’ve been told massages might help - can anyone vouch for that?

I’ve had baths, used a hot compresses. Sat up straight with my back supported. Took paracetamol.

I’ve been like this over a week and I can’t sleep, breathe or have the baby move without the most intense sharp pain coming.

Any other recommendations would be truly appreciated!

Today is my due date and I am still suffering sciatica pain I've had it from around 32 weeks, it is awful. The midwives just kept saying to me it is part of pregnancy and I just hoped it would go away but still didnt.. however I know someone else who is pregnant who was luckily enough referred by her midwife to a chiropractor and she said the first session worked amazingly! So go to your midwife and push for that I really wish I did!

Yes google pigeon yoga pose. It hurts like hell whilst you do it but it has released mine and any time I feel the slight niggle of it starting again I sit in that pose in front of the telly for a bit (and although it totally cripples me that night) it will have loosened majorly by morning. Hope it helps

I had massages and they definitely helped. You have to find someone who really know what they are doing though. I went weekly as the effect wears off after a few days.

I got a heated hand held massager from amazon . DH used it to massage me before bed for 25 mins every eve and it meant I could sleep through. Have you got crutches?

Also just to add that it eventually affected my gait as I was walking to accommodate the pain. When it came to having an epidural my spine was slightly twisted and the epidural only worked down one side and not the side that had been most affected by sciatica. Anaesthetist had to re site it a few times before it worked. Make sure you mention it if that's a pain relief option you're considering.

No advice but also a sufferer. 38 plus 3 now and found nothing that works... Massages help short term but nothing more. I've not slept a full night in weeks

I had very mild pain a few weeks ago and found that yoga, exercise and massages have helped
