STD tests in pregnancy

Just checked my online maternity notes for all my screening results and am slightly worried now! They don’t test for things like chlamydia which can cause pre-term birth and I thought they do so I haven’t tested myself. Partner and I were estranged for a bit so he could have contracted it from someone else and passed it on to me. I’ve always been routinely tested if I have different partners and was negative before I had my daughter, only slept with current partner since.

It says ‘negative’ for everything they tested me for apart from HIV where it just says ‘results confidential’. Why are they confidential when it’s my maternity notes? Should I be concerned that I might have HIV? Pretty terrified and worried why midwife hasn’t told me if the test was positive. What was everyone else tested for? I’m sure they tested for chlamydia when I was pregnant 5 years ago as it’s obviously one of the most common STDs and can cause health complications for the baby.

Hi op, my notes say the chlamydia test was not applicable because I'm over 25 which I thought was weird but I wasn't worried as tested when me and dh were early on and neither of us have been with anyone since. If you had HIV they would have contacted you right away but if you have any concerns or want further testing just ask your midwife :)

Go to your local sexual health clinic they will test you for everything and give you the results within a week

Order an STI home testing kit. Send it off and get your results text to you.
As for HIV status - it would be very inappropriate for you to discover this via logging onto your results online.
I was told that the midwife would ring, arrange a separate appointment and discuss this with you face to face. That way they can discuss drugs you can take to reduce passing it onto your unborn baby.

My midwife tested me for hiv on my booking appointment, the results were given to me when I attended my first scan and blood test was taken again

Another vote for asking for testing at your local sexual health clinic.
