Antenatal classes: Bambino Club or NCT

Hi all,
I live in London and I am new to mumsnet and trying to decide between Bambino Club and NCT for my antenatal classes. I know that NCT is most popular, but I don't like that it is run by 'antenatal educators' as opposed to actual qualified midwives/healthcare professionals, but I haven't heard much about Bambino Club. If anyone has any advice that'd be much appreciated.
Thanks

My NCT class was run by a local practising midwife and covered all birth methods and pain relief equally and in a balanced way.

Certainly none of the bias I see claimed on here.

I’d highly recommend.

You go to classes to meet people. At the NCT you generally bond over laughing at the batshit crazy teacher.

Try Bump and Baby if there's one by you

I started nct for the second time last week (also in London. We spoke to the teacher ahead of time as we have a complicated history (dd1 died so pregnancy is quite traumatic) and I will have an elcs. She has been very good so far and covered all birth options in the first session. I think nct used to be quite focussed on vaginal birth/ pushed bf but this isn’t the experience I’ve had.

Not sure where you are but I saw an advert for happy parents happy baby classes which look great (cover baby first aid, hypnobirthing etc.). There aren’t any close enough to me (I also wanted to meet local friends) but these would have been my first choice if so.

My NCT class was great and like a previous poster said, covered all birth options equally and was non-biased. I suppose it’s luck of the draw what the teacher and course content is like, but we’ve made some really great friends through going.

Thank you all for your comments. I think I'm going to go for bambino Club (they've got a great discount at the moment and one of the venues is literally on my doorstep!) because at least it'll definitely be a midwife there every time to avoid the pot luck. So pleased to hear lots of you have all had really positive experiences of antenatal classes. I'm excited!
