Growth spurt?

This is my first pregnancy so I'm still working out what's normal and what isn't and usually google is quite good for this but on this occasion it's being a bit useless.

The night before last I slept for about 10 hours, it was my birthday and I wanted to stay up a bit later to see friends but I was exhaaaausted so I went for a nap and ended up sleeping through the entire night (you win some you lose some). When I woke up yesterday morning my bump looked huge in comparison to the day before but I just assumed that she had moved position.

Since then I feel like I can feel twice as many movements, it is literally like she got twice the size in one night (I know it won't be that extreme but that's how it feels).

I guess my question is can babies have random feral growth spurts overnight? To the extent where it's noticeable?

They don't double in size over night, but it's possible to start to feel a lot more movements all of a sudden. If it doesn't feel quite right, ring your maternity unit. They say you should report any change in movements.

How many weeks are you?

@R2D2abc whoops, 31+6.

I know she won't have doubled in size overnight but it does feel that extreme if that makes sense

Yes it is my bump one day was small next day I woke up and it was massive to the point everyone I seen the following day said how big I had gone so it can happen not double but can definitely have a growth spurt my midwife also said the same x

I agree there is growth spurt, but what makes really big differences in movements and the way our bump looks is mostly baby changing position.

@op as you are quite advanced in your pregnancy, try giving a calm to your maternity unit if you feel the movements have changed so much. It's better to get checked and know it's fine instead of wondering.

@OP you're a few days shy of me. I'm 32+4. ;)
