I am 36+5 and I have been able to feel baby's head in my pelvic area for a few weeks now. Now, it has been painful - as most of you may know it is. However, for the past 24hrs or so, I've been having period like pains in the bottom of my back and the pressure is now making me feel the need to poop (sorry for the tmi!). Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal?

Thank you x

Completely normal, can’t say the same for everyone but I got the same around the same time as you and went full term. Just made it very awkward for walking!
Take it easy on yourself x

Thank you! I took painkillers around 45 mins ago and come to bed to see if the pains ease. Hopefully they will! They've been going on for almost 2 hours now and only got worse! Xx

Hang on that sounds like labour... maybe call the midwife?

User0000011 · 06/03/2020 20:44

Partner told me the same - To give the professionals a call! I just don't want to cause a scene if there's nothing going on x

I would call your midwife.

Another vote for calling your midwife!

That was me in early stages of labour ...

AnnieAnt · 06/03/2020 21:53

I would also call your midwife. My labour with DC1 was like that and it took me ages to realise what it was - I was expecting stomach cramps and had not one. Ended up spending about 4 hours on the loo thinking it would pass (it did, once I'd delivered DC1 12 hours later....).

Yeo, was labour for me too.. ring!

Ah apologies I must have been an odd case! I would definitely call the midwife as others have said if they felt same as you before labour. Good luck!
