I'm due to give birth in June to my second baby. My first Labour was very quick! I went from 3cm-10cm in less then an hour - approx 45min! I had a completely natural birth thank goodness!!

Now I'm due to have a second, is it likely she might be even quicker??? Has anyone experienced a quick first labour, how was your second???

Hospital consultant is encouraging an induction for this one due to how quick my first was- but I'm not entirely keen on this and would rather opt for completely natural labour! My midwife has suggested a home assessment for if I can't make the hospital and then a transfer to hospital...I'm not keen on a home birth and associate having a baby with going to the hospital but also opportunity to have a break and put all my focus into the newest bubba...

What's everyone's experiences? Thoughts???

I hear a 45min active labour is pretty rare!?!

My first was 4 hours and my second an hour and fifteen minutes. I'm pregnant with my third and quite worried it's going to be a car park baby. Generally I think each baby does come a bit quicker but I don't think it's a given sort of thing (in the way that labour can go in a hundred different directions). All you can do is plan for a quick labour and try not to worry (as worrying isn't going to change the outcome).

My first was just under 6 hours though would have been quicker if midwives had realised I was pushing against a full bladder Hmm
Second 2 and a half hours
Third 1 hr 15.

If you laboured so quickly with your first I doubt you will make it to hospital with this one. What is your midwife advising?
