I am 14 weeks pregnant, has anyone else been in the position of a high risk of any of these syndromes?

I don,t like how all the disabilities seem clumped together. I have worked with a child with Edwards. (may have been mosaic which is less severe and less of a life risk.) But I can see why people would terminate as it is a condition which can be incompatible with life. DS is not

Plenty of people cannot cope with a child who has DS. It's not for anyone to decide that for them and thankfully, the law does not force people to give birth when they do not want to. Working with one or two or even many children with such conditions is vastly different to living with one.

Completely agree datasgingercatspot. Plus there is such a sliding scale of severity with all these conditions.

My risk was 1 in 4 and more tests proved positive for Pataus. It was a very difficult time and even 16 years later I can remember the shock when I was told, as if it happened yesterday.

I agree with Sarah's post. Sadly it sounds as if we had a very similar exoerience. .

Op, I found Arc really helpful throughout the process, they were very supportive when I really needed someone to talk to.
