Does weight have an impact on Down syndrome screening?

Just had a letter from my down syndrome screening which gave me a result of a low chance but my weight is completely wrong on it (it's listed as lower than it is, and by almost 4.5 stone!).
Have rang up and corrected this and will hear back within a week, but does this have a huge bearing on my result, just wondering if it could change from low risk to high for example.

If your weight is wrong on it i wonder what else is wrong.

Everything else listed is correct, so not worried about that!

The calculation compares your hormone levels to a matched population to see how “average” they are, so it is very important the information is correct.
Good for you for spotting it. Have the hospital run an investigation about how it was recorded incorrectly. That is an error which they should have reported to the National Screening Committee and a check should be done to see if it could have happened to anyone else who isn’t as careful checking as you are.
A very detailed explanation can be seen here from one of the biggest labs doing these tests in the Uk www.qmul.ac.uk/wolfson/services/antenatal-screening/screening-tests/calculating-the-risk-of-downs-syndrome/

@sussexmidwife thank you for that information. I have my 20 week scan in a couple of weeks, you are right, I think I'll ask them if the error has been reported.
