My placenta is at the front and I found that out from my 16 week scan.. is this the reason why I can’t feel anything? It’s frustrating 😞

I found the same information this week (anterior placenta) and my midwife said it could be anywhere up to 24 weeks!

Don’t worry OP, anterior placenta is most likely the reason why you’ve not felt anything. I had a posterior placenta and I didn’t really feel anything until 18 weeks. Especially if it’s your first baby, you might be mistaking the fluttering for gas (like I did lol) xxx

Yes, that could lead to you not being able to feel anything. I had a posterior placenta and couldn't feel any movements until 22 weeks. If you are worried at all though, ring your midwife.

So rubbish isn't it! My midwife scared the crap out of me at my 16 week appt as she couldn't find the heartbeat (I'd been having light bleeding too) so she went into a panic and sent me to triage before she could even get somebody to pick up the phone at the it her end.

I'm 19 weeks today and no movement yet. I also have an anterior placenta. Logically I know it can take longer to feel anything but I'm still stressing about it. It's only a week until my 20wk scan but so anxious.

Hey. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I felt very little by 24 weeks. I think I started feeling her at around 26 weeks with my first and an anterior placenta.

It's really frustrating because I've had a few complications and I've been in for reduced movement and the trace could pick up movement I couldn't even feel. Even now I have scans and the Sonographer told me the baby was jumping up and down - didn't feel a thing 🤣

I went in at 19 weeks cos I couldn't feel the baby and it's because my uterus had grown and she'd moved higher up - at this stage I didn't know I had an anterior placenta. She was MIA for weeks after that.

The way my midwife explained it is if you spread your hand really wide and place it over the front of your bump - that is your placenta. So at 20 weeks the baby isn't big enough to kick or punch around that area.

At 33 I can feel her near my groin and kick under my boobs - my skin twitches but by comparison to friends with a posterior it's like night and day. It will come, it just takes time - the plus is that they don't keep up at night kicking - they just sit on your bladder instead 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi, I didn't feel any movements until after 21 weeks. My placenta wasn't even in the front... I do feel her all the time now at 24 weeks :)
