Daytime only baby pod / nest

I’m looking for a daytime only Baby pod / nest, something to put little one in whilst I do bits and bobs around the house. I’m not planning on using it for their naps, or sleeping in the next to me crib.

Therefore I don’t really want to buy anything expensive eg sleepyhead.

Has anyone bought cheaper alternatives that they would recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I can't recommend the exact one because I live abroad but I bought one from Amazon for about £30 (there are loads on there) and it was by far our most useful purchase for the first 3 months!

Newborns sleep practically all the time so you'll probably find your baby ends up sleeping in it.

I researched the risks and was happy to use one during the day when DS was completely supervised so we could always see that his little face wasn't pressed up against the side. Make sure you get one that says "breathable" fabric just in case though.

I plan on using the baby box from the government, and/ or the carrycot from the pram for daytime use around the house.

@maybae I'm also looking for the same as dont want to spend the ridiculous money on a sleepyhead. I've found the below which looks good but there are no reviews so im sceptical! Loads on Amazon so I may choose from one of those.

Tbh the age where baby will be happy laying in a pod of some kind they will probably be sleeping in it!

We had a poddle pod, and yes, he slept in it in the day!

I use a purflow, I think it’s called that.
Tbh my baby doesn’t like it that much, she was only 4lbs 13oz so I think she was too small for it, it was cheaper than a sleepyhead though.

I’m hoping she’ll like it when she gains a bi more weight and makes her feel like surrounded.

I mentioned above that I got mine on Amazon abroad. I've just seen that they sell it in the UK too: www.amazon.co.uk/Newborn-Multifunctional-Portable-Breathable-Swaddling/dp/B07R134K7P/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?keywords=baby+nest&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1582980007&sr=8-7

If it's not for sleeping then you are better off getting a little bouncer so that baby is slightly propped up and can see you (this will also prove a lifesaver if your baby is prone to reflux). The Baby Bjorn one is excellent and often comes up secondhand.

I used a purflo nest for daytime naps but it only worked for about six weeks, after that he was too alert to nap downstairs unless he was in the sling or being held. When he was awake I found the bouncy chair and the jungle gym were better for keeping him happy and quiet.

Thank you everyone for your advice and suggestions :-)

@Bookworm83 I actually ordered one of these and it never arrived! There are a lot of people complaining online. Think the company may have gone bust or something? Be careful!
