I don't think there is much you can do before apart from eat well and exercise I'm due to have my second c section in a few weeks first time I bled less than my first delivery which was forceps was just like a heavy period for a week then got lighter.

I agree, I don't think there is necessarily anything you can do beforehand. Even bring fit won't necessarily help. I've had 4 c-sections, the first one was probably the worst in terms of recovery and I was extremely fit them but it was an emergency so they don't take quite as much care. The second one was almost like nothing had happened and the third and fourth weren't too bad. I really wouldn't worry, they manage your pain very well and as long as you do as little as possible for as long as possible your recovery should be fine. The bleeding can be heavy but it's normal and not worse than a period.

Stay on top of the pain after (rather than thinking you're fine to leave taking painkillers for a while). Get out of bed and move around as soon as you can. Drink plenty of water. Bring HUGE pants that won't rub on your incision and nighties (instead of pjs) for the same reason. Not too much I can think of for before it!
