Worry: Movements 20 weeks. Second baby

I felt this baby move pretty early on. A few pokes here and there especially when I ate or sat down. Seemed like quite an active little one. For the past week I've had an awful cough, so I've not really been able to feel anything. Because everytime id sit and lay I'd cough pretty much until I forced myself to sleep.
Anyway. Cough is now going (thank god). I'm now worrying because movements seem very minimal. I swore last night I felt a few flutters.
I got told not to worry because I'm only 20 weeks and baby has allot of room to hide and tuck itself in.
I have my 20 week scan Thursday and just have a massive fear about it not moving when they scan me.
Can't seem to relax.
I've text both midwives with no reply. I've only seen them once this entire pregnancy. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Looking for reassurance? I think we tried so long for baby number 2 that I'm freaking out more this time around lol

In all likelihood everything is fine, I wouldn’t worry too much. I remember having reduced movements later on than this, I think I was around 28 weeks so I went in to be monitored but they weren’t remotely concerned even at that stage because the baby is small enough to hide away.

Call your community midwife team. I had this at 18 weeks (had been feeling daily movements for over 2 weeks at this point) and then I didn't feel any at all for 2 days. They saw me that evening in clinic, tested my blood pressure, urine, measured my bump and checked with the doppler for the heart beat. Turned out baby was moving loads (you can hear movements on the doppler too), I just couldn't feel them. They said it was 100% a good reason to call them & be seen, and it put my mind at rest. Felt a bit silly once I realised how many movements were going on while I couldn't feel a thing!

I agree that in all likelihood everything is absolutely fine, but if baby's movements change/reduce at all you should contact your community midwife team, and should expect to be seen that day to check all is okay and put your mind at ease. Don't wait for your scan.

One hundred percent always get checked out if you're worried. Several times midwives have said to me that they don't mind at all doing a check for you.

Hi there. I literally could have written this post I am currently waiting for midwife to arrive to check my 19 week bump. This is my second baby and I've been feeling real movements for over 2 weeks now a I even commented on how much I've been feeling it! Then yesterday afternoon I noticed I'd not felt much. As the night went on I became more and more desperate to feel something and still nothing.
My tummy now hurts a bit but I don't know if that's all my poking and pressing to feel something. Am torn between worry and feeling silly if all is said to be well.
Please keep me posted on how things go - and thanks to everyone else for the reassurance Smile
