Hi everyone I am 6 weeks pregnant and I feel like I’m in for a long bumpy road and I’m struggling to cope already With sickness already. For the past week I have constantly felt sick or been seen and can’t keep anything down . I’m trying everything online that people are recommending but nothing seems to be working . I go back to work tomorrow after a week off and I’m dreading it and don’t know how I’m going to cope !

Any reassurance or tips would be greatly received . Thanks Ladies .

Have you been to your GP? There is medication that is perfectly safe that you can take.

I also found that the travel sickness bands took the edge off.

I'm 18 weeks and still regularly have to take sickness meds, it's in your best interest to go Dr's and get meds sooner rather than later as at this point your sickness is likely to get worse I'm afraid.

My meds literally changed my life, I could barely function with the nausea x

Have you done a urine test to check you are not dehydrated? It can happen really quickly, especially as you say you can't keep anything down. I was the same and particularly bad during weeks 9-11 that I had to go into hospital and be put on a drip. I'm 25 weeks now and although not feeling as sick, I have days where I feel it just as bad. But it nearly always gets better, so just try to get through the next few weeks as best you can. Lots of rest when possible, can you work from home? I found that helpful so I could get a lie down at lunch (I have 2 other children under 5 so I don't get the chance any other time!) Just eat what you can stomach, little and often and little sips of any liquid - I found a squeeze of lemon in water was better than plain water. I also took diarolyte on particularly bad days to ensure I was replacing the salts etc lost through vomiting. Hope you feel better soon, all day sickness is the pits. But there is light at the end of the tunnel 🙂

Definitely talk to your GP, I had to try a couple of different meds but did find one which took the edge off. I was still very sick for a while though, so just do what you have to to get through. Plenty of rest, small snacks of anything you can manage, more rest. I hope you feel better soon.

Also I should say, ask yiur GP about medication if it is really bad. I took cyclizine for a while but it stopped working so i then moved to promethazine which helps
