Hi guys!

I'm suffering so bad atm and I'm only really early on in my pregnancy.
I'm not so much being physically sick (although certain smells do lead to this) but it's mostly just feeling really nauseous.

It seems to be worse first thing in the morning then late afternoon into evening.

Anyone any tips? Never had it this bad before.

I totally feel your pain. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum around 9 weeks and it lasted right up until around 20 weeks when it just disappeared. I was sick about 30 times a day and was hospitalized. Personally for me I found anything salty helped. I bought some of those salt and vinegar twists from asda and ate half a bag a day. Also salted bread sticks. Everyone suggested ginger but it never helped me. I had an awful taste in my mouth from the second I got up until I went to bed and found lemon sorbet helped. Just a spoonful every hour or so. You dont have to be physically sick to be suffering from hyperemesis, extreme nausea is included and to be honest I don't know which is worse. At least when you are sick you have relief for a short period of time. Eat every hour very small amounts such as crackers etc, sips of water and don't suffer. There are medication you can take which is safe in pregnancy, I had cyclizine and prochlorperazine. Really hope you get better soon, it really is distressing. I'm currently over due and back to being as miserable as I was back in the day 😳 be worth it for us though xxx

Don't just suffer. If it gets bad, go to the GP and ask for help.
In the meantime, nibble and sip on whatever you can that will ease the discomfort. Keep a stash by your bed, by the sofa, in your bag so you've always got them there. Agree that salt and vinegar crisps helped me.
Hope it doesn't stay too long!

I had constant nausea and I used to have a packet of ginger biscuits by the side of my bed and before I even sat up I ate one or two if I could.
Throughout the day I just snacked, big bags of popcorn were a fave.

Again like pp don't suffer! I didn't know there was medication you could get! I deffo would have got some otherwise

I suffered from weeks 4-10, weeks 7-9 being the worst . It’s my first baby so I had no idea what to expect and it was all day sickness not just the morning Which is what you expect with ‘morning sickness’ so I was really shocked . The dr prescribed me cyclizine in the end but personally it only stopped the vomiting not the nausea so I stopped taking it . I found eating bland foods like plain crisps , and baby biscuits were all I could eat. Nothing hot. And sipping fizzy water if you can manage it. It didn’t really get rid of it but it stopped me starving . It’s so grim but I’m 13 weeks now and it’s all gone . If literally just disappeared at 10 weeks, really weird. Hang in there xx

I noticed yesterday eating small and often helped a lot, plus as much sleep as I can get, I've woken feeling a lot better this morning x
