I'm a front sleeper and with DS managed to get to about 13/14 weeks and still manage to sleep on my front, currently 9 and it's uncomfortable and can feel the hardness of the bump starting. How long did you all manage? Second baby seems to be showing so much earlier I'm considering getting the maternity jeans out soon!

I’m 21 weeks with baby#2 (and a pretty big bump) and keep waking up in the morning on my stomach.

When I go to bed I can still kind of lie on my stomach if I lift one leg up to the side and bend it at the knee.

I hate sleeping on my side, so try to go to sleep like that but seem to end up waking up either flat on my back or flat on my stomach - maybe I need to invest in a maternity pillow...

Don't ya just remember lying on your stomach for the first time after giving birth and just feeling so happy to have your own body back? Sorry, I'm a front sleeper and you've just reminded me of my first night home from the labour ward 😂

I've only had 1 DC and managed front sleeping til about 13 weeks as you say with your first, but friends tell me that second pregnancies bumps come out a lot quicker.

Definitely go for the pregnancy pillow. My sleep was terrible as I just couldn't get comfortable, the pillow means I can feel like I am lying on my front still and it sort of positions me diagonally. So comfortable. Have slept well since I got it last week. Best £25 ever

I'm usually a front sleeper but about 15 weeks was getting a bit uncomfortable and kept waking up on my back which felt very weird ha.... So got one of them long pillows. so much better cause I just hug that and can still sort of lie on stomach.

My people! Yes to that first sleep on your stomach after giving birth! I'm only 6 weeks but starting to dread it again. Need a pregnancy pillow.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

I agree that an arrangement of pillows can get you to almost-on-your-front - I’m 33 weeks and can still manage it though it’s not quite the same

This is my front pregnancy and I'm just getting to the point now where front sleeping is impossible at 15/16 weeks. I'm really struggling to get comfortable and sleep now and end up tossing and turning all night.

I'm not surprised it's happening sooner with baby #2 as most women show a lot sooner in subsequent pregnancies (something to do with your body remembering how to grow and stretching sooner in preparation if that makes sense)

*first not front (got front on the brain lol)

yestonodressyet · 23/02/2020 09:10

@RhymingRabbit3 that looks amazing although not sure DH would agree! I did have one of the massive U shaped pillows last pregnancy but even with a king size bed there was no room for DH Grin

I got this cause we only have a double bed so wanted something small . It's good cause it's proper bendy and moulds Smile

I’m nearly 18w preg with my second and still sleep on my front. Agree , second time the belly is out there and it does get uncomfortable. I stick a little cushion under my right hip /right side which created a bit of space / gap for the belly so I’m not squishing it. Im sure I’ll need to look for some alternatives soon but for now it works for me.
