Currently 7+4 with my first pregnancy and struggling badly with nausea (all day every day) and vomiting multiple times throughout the day.

In your pregnancies, when did your sickness start to get a bit better? I know that it's usually gone entirely by 12-14 weeks, but that still seems so far away! Would like an earlier landmark to look forward to!

Around 20 weeks but mine was awful!

troppibambini · 21/02/2020 12:30

Weeks 9 and 10 were the worst for me but started to get the odd good day after that I would say by around 13 weeks I was feeling reasonably normal.

I've got two boys and two girls. Sickness was worse with the girls tiredness was worse with the boys but they did come after the girls so maybe I was just more tired looking after 2/3 kids.

I hope you start to feel better soonSmile

In my first pregnancy MS started at 7 weeks and was gone by the start of the second trimester. During my second pregnancy however the MS started later at 9 weeks (thought i had escaped it at first) but it then lasted until 16 weeks and went and came back in the third trimester!!

Alarae · 21/02/2020 12:34

Around 20 weeks, but it was mainly nausea with a few actual vomiting episodes.

Unfortunately it came back around 30 weeks, but only once every week or so.

UrsulaSings · 21/02/2020 12:46

I would say where you are at the moment was the worst time for me sickness wise. I have been feeling SO much better the last 5 days or so, so I would say around week 10 I started to feel better, and today I actually had my lunch that I used to have every day at work previous to being pregnant. Weeks 5 - 10 I couldn't stomach it even though its only a salad with olives!

managedmis · 21/02/2020 12:47

12-16 weeks

Bezalelle · 21/02/2020 12:49

I'm in my 13th week now and starting to feel better. Food aversions have subsided and I don't feel constantly nauseous. I get a wave of it from time to time, but nothing like the relentless sickness I felt from week 6 to week 12.

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 21/02/2020 12:50

The day I gave birth.

Sjjr23 · 21/02/2020 12:56

1 minute after birth. Sorry Confused

Annafs · 21/02/2020 13:42

Weeks 4-8 were the worst for me I would say and by week 13 it was slowly subsiding. I’m now 15 weeks and vomiting every morning but mainly just bile and not feeling much nausea at all except sometimes just before bed. I still don’t feel 100% but feeling infinitely better than how I was at the beginning!

thethirdbar · 21/02/2020 14:14

I've had it pretty much constantly from week 7. Weeks 8-13 were the worst with sometimes multiple bouts of vomiting per day. From about week 13 this reduced to being sick once every single morning, but rarely more than that. Constant nausea all the way through, especially if I left it more than like, a minute too long before eating.

This week (17) it seems to be starting to ease a little bit - I have been sick every other day this week instead of every single day, and I don't feel as permanently nauseous. Woo!

sel2223 · 21/02/2020 14:32

Week 7 to week 11 were definitely the worst for me.
Im now 15+1 and, although it hasn't gone completely, it's a million times better than it was

MissisBee · 21/02/2020 14:33

Currently 23 weeks with no 2. With both, it improved a bit around 18 weeks. Last time it continued the whole way through, and looks like it's doing the same this time too

anotherypasswordtoremember · 21/02/2020 14:35

I'm 10+5 and I'm finally getting some periods during the day when I don't want to hurl.
I'm also able to handle different food again. Instead of 100% beige food I'm at about 90% beige!

Nightmanagerfan · 21/02/2020 14:41

Lasted from week 5 to 23 weeks. Lots of getting off the bus to vomit. You have my sympathy.

The only things that helped me were:

Lots of cold, iced drinks eg lemon squash
Bland white carbs and fat - Eg pasta and cheese/jacket potatoes (I don’t usually eat like this!
Melon
Eating before leaving for work and again before the commute home helped me not feel so bad on the bus
Early bedtime
Lots of snacks such as cereal bars

Tfoot75 · 21/02/2020 14:46

1st time started to get better from about 14 weeks but still felt queasy and at risk of being sick throughout. 2nd time didn't get off antisickness meds til 20 weeks and continued to feel queasy throughout. Both times didn't realise how bad food had tasted til the first time I ate something after they were born and it was the most delicious thing I'd ever eaten (NHS pork crumble... Hmm). Not good times but you'll get through it.

MrsCollinssettled · 21/02/2020 14:46

39+4. Dd did have an amazing head of hair and never lost any of it. I was told there was a link between the two.

ElderAve · 21/02/2020 14:59

I was very ill for the first 16 weeks with DS2 and sick every single day of the pregnancy. After 16 weeks though, it became more manageable and routine. Get up, be sick, brush teeth, shower,....I was even sick just after the delivery. Generally I'm not a sicky person at all.

It also meant DH had to deal with DS1 during the night, as if I got up I was sick. While I stayed horisontal I was OK Grin

anon2000000000 · 21/02/2020 15:02

It didn't until after I gave birth unfortunately.

Saoirse22 · 21/02/2020 15:10

It's kinda got better in week 12-13, meaning I'm only sick at some stages and not every bloody second of every day.

It started very early, on the first day of week 4, so feeling like it's slowing down is a very welcome relief. I had to stop working almost immediately when it started, it was that bad, so currently I've been jobless for almost 8 weeks. It's physically and mentally terrible.

13w7d at the moment, I know I'm probably not out of the woods yet, but I can hope.

lustforlife · 21/02/2020 15:12

12 weeks Smile

bluemoon2468 · 21/02/2020 15:44

@Saoirse22 so sorry to hear you've had to miss so much time off work 😔 my nausea also started really early (could feel it in the background from week 4) but it's got worse every week and now weeks 4-6 feel like an absolute dream 😆

Has anyone else had to miss work/been signed off work from it?

I was sick morning noon and night the entire 9 months with both of mine....
I was even sick after my first about 30 mins after giving birth!!.. after that I felt fine!!
Really sorry you are feeling so bad but it's worth it!!.. mine are 17 and 15 and I can still remember thinking I'll never have any more as I was so Ill during pregnancy
Things that helped were to eat little and often so you always had something to throw up!!
Ginger biscuits, weetabix and fresh air.
Hang in there!!!

geojojo · 21/02/2020 16:04

After my 12 week scan I remember it got better - I wasn't being sick every day, after my 20 week scan it had gone completely.

Sally7645 · 21/02/2020 16:07

Last time I had horrendous MS (sick up to 10 times a day, lost 14lbs in first trimester, could only eat magnums Blush)

This time around, far easier. Think I've got 'normal MS' with constant nausea but only the odd vomit... 12 weeks on Sunday, hoping it clears off! It's grim! X
