15 week gender reveal???

Hiya, so I’m looking for a bit of advice as a first time mummy.

So the place I had my early reassurance scan offers gender reveals from 15 weeks. Me being super excited (and also the way my weeks fall) I’m exactly 15 weeks on the 29th Feb so decided to book the gender reveal for then.

I know most gender reveals tend to say from 16 weeks but I’ve seen a few places offering from 15 weeks but has anyone had a 15 week gender scan? Did you have any issues finding out the gender or anything? Did everything go okay?

I shouldn’t feel skeptical because it is only a weeks difference but I’m so worried I’ll be disappointed if they say they can’t tell yet 🙈🙈🙈

And more to the point, I’d be happy no matter what we are having so I don’t know why I’m worried I might have to wait longer.... is it normal to just find things to just stress about? 😂😂

I don't think private scanners are trained to spot medical issues like a hospital scanner is.

Just googled a few such scans in my area, and they all state that they do health checks too, eg “Our Sonographer will check the baby’s heartbeat, check placental position, fluid volume, identify the position of the baby”.

Which is good, I guess, though could well raise concerns instead of being reassuring. With any scan health issues can be spotted.

@Dozer She is paying for a private 'gender' scan it isn't a health/medical scan, most places are properly trained though and if they spot any problems they will fill a sheet out and tell you to take it to your local EPU.

My cousin went for a early reassurance scan and was told she was having triplets so they told her to go to EPU.

We found out at 15 weeks and he is defo a boy! The only problem you may have is if its a girl & that area is swollen it can look like a penis! My niece was told boy at 16 weeks and it was a girl x

I had one at 16 they couldn't tell so I had to go back at 17! And that was a boy.
