Epidurals when overweight

I haven't had much success with epidurals (worked perfect 1st time, one numb leg second time, no time third and fourth time) but my last labour was horrifically painful. However my BMI is about 39 (5'3" and about 99kg) I am very worried this will mean I cannot have an epidural - has anyone of a similar bmi had a succesful one? I'm kinda panicking.

My last pregnancy I was 37 BMI and had it successfully. Had it ask with my first and with second had a spinal for c-section. All worked perfectly.

This time for my 4th I have a similar BMI to your and will definitely have one if possible.

I didn't realise BMI would effect an epidural I'm due to have my second c section I was a healthy weight before but have gained so much weight now my BMI has shot up to 37 hopefully it won't effect it tad worried though .

I had an appointment with the anaesthetist at 30 something weeks and he did an ultrasound of my spine to see the best place to go in....

Being overweight makes it slightly harder to get an epidural in because they can't feel the spaces in your back so easily, but far from impossible! Being able to sit still in a good position is far more useful to the anaesthetist. No need to panic!
