I have an induction booked for Sunday (due to GD).
I feel pretty organised currently, I’ve filled the freezer with batch cooked meals, packed hospital bag, tidied house etc.
Does anyone have any top tips for things to do before setting off for the hospital that made coming home a bit easier?
Was thinking of changing bed sheets at the last minute, setting up the bedside sleeper before we go and washing my hair but that’s about all I can think of!
Any useful ideas appreciated Smile

I was induced on the 2nd February and i didnt have my daughter until the 7th February! I would recommend taking stuff for you to do in the hospital.

As for at home it sounds like your very organised i would make sure your stocked up on all toiletries and loo rolls etc as well as food with a longer sell by date.
Changing bedsheets is a great idea last minute I also made sure I done my ironing, any washing I could do, set up moses basket, nappy caddies, changing bag all packed for first outing, dusted and hoovered last minute, also had a general tidy and found a place for things that I thought cluttering space, filled the car with petrol, paid any bills that needed sorting for that week. Hope that helps x

Another thing is sorting any birthday cards and presents you need for friends and family for the next few weeks. I was imagining strolling through town at 5 days with my pram... reality was I have an emergency section so was stuck at home for longer than expected. This time I plan to have everything like that sorted, and like the the last person said any bills, or extra toiletries etc you need at home for the next month so you don’t have anything other than your baby to think about x

I went for a long walk the day before to try and shift him, made no difference!
Sounds like you are quite prepared. Easy food and a tidy house to make it easier coming back, ideal. I tried to tackle laundry mountain from older DC.....

I went to the cinema to see the new Hunger Games film, which came out the day before I was induced (also GD).

I was induced a week early like you due to Gd. I finished work the Wednesday, had two days at home and then got the call from the hospital to go in. Dd was born the same day.

Sorry posted before I finished,

I set up the cot and stuff beforehand. Everything else was done pretty much

My biggest induction regret: not filling my laptop with trashy films to watch while I waited and waited for the hormones to take effect.
Instead, I spent a fortune on data add-ons so that I could watch Netflix on the iPad. It’s not as if you can concentrate on reading a book when you’re confined to an antenatal ward, waiting for your life to change forever, surrounded by multiple impatient inpatients. You need headphones and you need distracting trash.
I was so nervous the morning that we drove to the hospital that I couldn't stomach more than a few Cheerios. Luckily, the night before I had enjoyed a solid meal
Get a manicure, or whatever your beauty thing is. You likely won't be able to get around to an eyebrow wax, manicure, hair cut, knitting class, etc. for a while.
Get some early nights so you’re ahead of the game! They’ll be the last you have in a long while!
