I’m not due til July but just wondering! Did your first babies come early or late or on time?

There’s a load of July birthdays in my close family so I’m hoping little baba comes on time to be part of the July gang but I know this is probably unlikely haha!

Would love to hear everyone’s stories!

She'd still be in there now if I wasn't induced. 16 days! Confused

12 days past the due date.

I think due dates are a load of rubbish. The baby is full term at 38 weeks and the placenta can go on working until 42 weeks (unless there's another issue). So it's a month long window.

In some countries they say pregnancy lasts 42 weeks. It's nature, it doesn't have a stopwatch!

If most first pregnancies are late, and the due date is based on an average, it kind of makes you think the due date should be at 41 weeks or so. It would avoid a lot of anxiety and unnecessary inductions.

Labelling it as 'late' creates anxiety imho.

7 days late

Induced at 3 days over and he definitely wasn't ready to come!

I also don’t set a great deal of store by the due date other than a general guide for various risk factors. Which is why I don’t class my son arriving at 3 days after due date as late at all

2 weeks early spontaneously (second 5 days early)

Roselilly36 · 18/02/2020 08:23

1 day early, he is 18 now and never late for anything!

DustyMaiden · 18/02/2020 08:24

6 weeks early

BikeRunSki · 18/02/2020 08:25
