Crazy question....coronavirus

Ok so I will start by saying I am normally quite level headed and am aware this might sound ridiculous.

I have all of my antenatal care at St Thomas’, where some coronavirus patients are being treated. I am there at least once a week, including tomorrow.

I don’t know whether to cancel the appt or not. Surely other patients are well protected and this is a silly thing to worry about.....?!

I wouldn't worry about it at all! There's lots of infectious diseases in any hospital at any point and we never give it a second thought. The patients being treated will be in strict isolation and barrier nursed.

You're perfectly safe to go!

All of mine is at the hospital on the south coast where the GP who is infected worked in A&E..I'm due in next week. Advice is still to go but must admit I'm having my doubts as I am about going out of my house/on public transport/anywhere

I'm worried and not in your situation so fully understand. My boss says I'm more likely to die because of something falling off the windows of a building, but that still does not convince me and I am terrified.

I bet statistically you're more likely to catch coronavirus on your way to the hospital, at work, in the supermarket etc than in a hospital environment continuously being cleaned! If it was considered a risk you'd be advised not to go and the maternity unit would be closed.
