I am with you on this! Mine have appeared in the last few days.

There are creams/suppositories you can use. You cant use Anusol in Pregnancy, but you can use Germaloid stuff.

Also wet wipes for when you wipe, its way less sore

Thank you! I’m so glad I’m not the only one, I’ll get some wet wipes this evening along with some creams and see if they’ll help. The joys of pregnancy Smile lol

I thought you could use anusol in pregnancy, my midwife said I could??
Unfortunately totally normal, and don't really go away - I still have them and my baby is 7 months. I actually went to hospital a while back because of the pain (filled out an e consult that said I should seek medical advise, it was the weekend so went to minor injuries. The nurse there said if it was really bad call 111, so I did because it was horrendous pain, I was told to go to a&e as no out of hours appointments.). Sorry 😐

Oh and invest in a stool you can rest your legs on when pooing, and if the pain is really bad kind of do a crouching position where your knees are only slightly bent and your body is vertical. Helps loads

@namechangin it says on the medical leaflet that comes with the anusol medicines that they are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It also says in the BNF that they're not suitable. Im pretty sure it'll be because they just dont know IF there are any side effects or IF it effects the babies developments and they're just being cautious.

I agree its confusing though, I typed Anusol and pregnancy into google and it said it was ok, so went out and got the cream and the suppositories. Only to get home and read the leaflet and be told otherwise.

I've been using these tucks pads and plan to use them post pregnancy as well for not only piles but to help relieve the area.
They're just saturated round pads to wipe with or if particularly bad pop on a sanitary towel as close to the affected area as possible.
May be a nicer alternative if you don't fancy suppositories or creams. Good luck!

Yep very normal as soon as third trimester hit so did the piles haha! I've used germaloid cream and I think the anusol without hydrocortisone maybe can be used.

Also using witch hazel which seems to give more relief than the over counter creams.

Yehh.. I got piles following a forceps delivery of my first in 2017. They’ve never gone away 😫 but they aren’t too problematic when not pregnant, they flared up around my period for a couple days but generally more just annoying than painful!

But boyy are they awful in this third trimester of my 2nd. Going to the toilet fills me with dread as they now seem to be getting in the way of actually going! I’m popping to my doctor tomorrow to discuss so I’ll see what they say re-creams!

You could get your doctor to prescribe you laxido. I need to take it daily to avoid constipation and currently 37 weeks with internal piles. It's much better than lactulose and will definitely make your stools softer which may help prevent piles from becoming worse or lasting longer than necessary.
