Undiagnosed GD, symptoms?

Hi,

I read some old threads about undiagnosed gestational diabetes.

I did my OGTT 3 weeks ago and I wasn't diagnosed with GD. But since then I started to feel like ill. This happens especially after eating anything. I'm not a high sugar person, I eat fairly healthy food. So after I eat I start feeling dizzy, nauseous, extremely tired, can't concentrate on anything and I need to lie down for a while. Also am extremely thirsty, at the point I drink 5 litres a day and I still feel thirsty. My BP is really low.

Another thing that makes me point that I might have GD undiagnosed is that at my 28 weeks growth scan baby's belly is way over 95 percentile, where at 21 weeks he was perfectly on the line. He was estimated 3lb 1 oz, and none of my previous baby's measured that big( all have the same father).

I expressed some of my concerns to consultant last week and to midwife occasionally but no one seems concerned.

But the fact is that every day that passes I feel worse and I'm even scared to go out with the kids as I dread fainting because of the dizziness.

Today I have a BS monitor kit delivered and I'll try measuring before meal and after 2 hours to see what the readings are.

Does anyone else experienced this? How did you go about it? Could it be GD that makes me feel this way?

Thank you!

Ooo, I'm 29 weeks now.

I’ve got diagnosed last week and today I had a speech with diabetics midwife. Your fasting glucose level in the morning should be less than 5.3mmols and you should be testing 1 hour post meals not 2 like other type of diabetes. And it should be less than 7.8mmols. You don’t need to test before other meals. And 1 hour starts when you take the first bite.

Hope this helps!
