tender skin on belly

I have an area of tender skin at the top of my belly (30wks) - I did get it slightly sun burnt (I'm fair skinned) on holiday a few wks back but the redness disappeared within 48hrs, however stills feels tender like it is still burnt

It is not itching and I am sure the area is a bit larger than the area that got sun burnt, so not sure if the two are related or not.

Anyone else experienced this?

My skin is quite numb in places, but that's presumably as it is now stretched so thin. I think someone else may have had a tender patch and that is was to do with nerve endings, but I could have just made that up!! Hope someone will be along in a bit who knows what they are talking about!! Sorry!

Yeah - I get this when I get bigger, in fact mine has just started to be uncomfortable this time. Something to do with nerves, I think. And no-one could help me last time, so don't know how to deal with it. In fact it nearly sent me mad!!

I have had that patch all the way through my pregnancy, midwife told me it could be a compressed nerve due to things growing in belly, nowt to worry about apparently. Mine's top of my bump, under my boob about the size of a fist. Check with mw if it hurts, but i think it's just another of those pg mystery things

thnaks for the replies - seen my Dr today confirmed there is nothing to worry about.

Does anyone have any ideas how to deal with this?
Is there anything you can put on the skin that helps?

I'm only 28 weeks and it has come on with a vengeance already - it really drove me mad last time.

How about something v soothing like some chamomile essential oil in a carrier oil (grapeseed, almond, sunflower). 1 or 2 drops in 5-10ml would be ok? Chamomile is an excellent anti-inflammatory and so if the nerves are tender this will help.
