Felt movements at 14 weeks - none at 16 weeks?

Hi all, I'm 16+2 and started feeling flutters and a 'rolling' feeling occasionally at just under 13 weeks. I would have thought the movements would have increased and gotten stronger as the weeks went on, but actually they seem to have disappeared?

What I do feel now is so faint and fleeting that I could pass it off as gas. Wheras earlier on they were definite pronounced movements.

Would you be worried or could it just be that baby has moved positions? I know 16 weeks is still quite early to feel movements but the fact that I felt them a few weeks back but nothing now has created a little anxiety, even though I have no other reason to be concerned.

Anyone else felt movements early but then stopped feeling them?

Why dont you just have a midwife check?

Ring a midwife...

Get hold of your midwife, they can have a listen in and check everything is okay.
You could have been feeling things that weren't the baby beforehand.
Is this your first pregnancy?

You can ring your midwife.

Anyways I think because it's so early they won't stress much. Baby's at this stage grow a lot but uterus is growing as well a d there is so much space in there to float around. They change positions

Posted too early.

Change positions a lot at this stage. I'm pregnant with my 4th and felts some movements around 17 weeks, then not much and not regular until 20 weeks. To say I have an anterior placenta too this time. Midwife told me not to stress until after 26 weeks for a regular pattern. They also advise until 24 it's ok even if you don't feel any movements.
Just after that they get concerned if lack of movements or change happens.

Thank you all, it's not my first, but it's been 20 years since I was pregnant but do remember feeling my son move at exactly 16 weeks. My midwife appointment is in 10 days so might try and get an earlier appointment perhaps.

I do have an at home doppler amlnd did hear a very fast heartbeat a few days ago but I'm not keen on the doppler at all and certainly wouldn't trust myself to know how to use it properly and efficiently.

I do think I am feeling something, but it's so faint that I can't differentiate between movement and gas.

I'm not going to panic or stress myself out though, I do realise that anxiety is amplified in pregnancy and I know chances are everything is fine.

The best thing would be to do is call the midwife, they'll have you in and check with a doppler all is okay - it wont take long at all. Definitely don't depend on your home doppler - they listened to my baby a few days ago with the doppler and I heard a heartbeat and she said 'that's your placenta' moved the doppler to a completely different place on my belly 'and that's the baby' and both heartbeats sounded exactly the same!

I'm sure everything will be fine - baby is still small and in certain positions you won't be able to feel them move yet. I'm 24 weeks and if baby has his back to my belly and legs towards my spine I can only feel tiny light movements and nowhere near as often as when he's facing the other way
