Positive test after a miscarriage

I posted on here not long ago when I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks in December. I have since had what I presume was my first period on 26th January which lasted about 5 days. This last week I’ve had brown discharge for nearly a week and haven’t felt 100% so I did a couple of tests over the weekend that came back as positive. I wasn’t expecting it and was purely just doing it to rule out I wasn’t pregnant.

If it was my period on the 26th January is now not too soon to be getting a positive? I’m also worried about the brown discharge this week and just feel anxious from previous miscarriage.

I’ve phoned he doctors but I can’t get in today.

Has anyone had similar happen to them before?

It could be that the pregnancy hormone levels have just not completely dropped off and are still showing up. Especially if you have used an early indicator test.
I had this where i had an incomplete miscarriage and had to go back to the EPU. Then after medication they advised the hormone will be present for up to 3 weeks afterwards.

@Thompl16 sorry forgot to mention, I had a follow up at the early pregnancy unit 2 weeks after my miscarriage started and they tested and it came back as negative, they told me to test again a week after that to double check and it was still negative so they were happy it was a complete miscarriage.

Was the period like a usual period for you, as heavy and such? Or was it more like spotting? It could have been implantation bleeding that’s all. It would be too soon to get a positive test if you had an actual period two weeks ago, you’d be ovulating around now.

@Urkiddingright - that’s what I’m a bit confused about. It was more than spotting, quite heavy for first couple days then slowed down, like what my period would usually be like.

Finally managed to see a doctor after a lot of hassle getting a appointment!

I’m still non the wiser. She’s just as confused as me, said she can’t really say what is happening as it could be implantation or I could be having another miscarriage.

I can’t be referred to the EPU as my dates would only work out as 2 weeks which can’t be right, but they only allow you to be seen from 6 weeks. So I’ve just got to wait 2 weeks and do another test and then go from there!

Had swabs done at same time to rule out infection, so hopefully that comes back fine.
