Tips to make maternity go quicker?

I'm 29+4 and I'm taking maternity from 30 weeks due to having gestational diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease and bad SPD.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for what to do on maternity that aren't too expensive (really can't afford spa days etc) that will help my maternity go quicker? I feel like every day is taking a year right now. I'm having a C-Section hopefully around 38/39 weeks so I haven't got TOO long to go but I am very bored.

So far I have done the nursery, packed most of my hospital bag, finished his clothes shopping, bought almost everything I need to except a few little bits which I'm going to wait until I get paid to get, started stocking up on nappies etc.

I'm 30,000 into the edits of my book but I'm going to be finished with that within the next two weeks, and even that I'm having to do in sections because my concentration is rubbish!

Any other ideas to stop me going insane?

Also sorry for posting here, the pregnancy boards are pretty quiet!

Batch cook as many meals as you can fit in your freezer. Entire balanced meals like lasagne or shepherds pies are great to just shove in the oven or things like curries where you can just microwave a pack of rice to go with it. Things that are incredibly simple to cook and can be eaten with one hand will make the first few weeks so much easier.

Go swimming. So incredibly relaxing and so wonderful to float around weightless when you're normally feeling so heavy and uncomfortable.

Do a bit of nesting. This will probably kick in towards the end anyway (I'm normally a complete slattern was on my hands and knees bleaching the floors a few days before DD was born). Potter about getting any jobs done that probably won't be tackled for many months (or years!) after baby is born. Sort out the kitchen cupboards, declutter your lounge, organise your wardrobe.

Relax and enjoy! Do some lovely chilled activities that you're not going to have time for with a newborn- bake, read, put on a face mask in the bath, go for a walk/drive without needing about 3 hours and a small suitcase of baby paraphernalia to leave the house, watch some box sets and have plenty of naps :)

Are you able to swim? If so join a gym with a pool attached. I went daily on mat leave was lovely!

I read Marie Kondo and blitzed my whole house while I was waiting for DD. It’s made it so much easier to keep things tidy now she’s here.
Otherwise, just find ways to relax and enjoy the peace. Reading, crafts, films, swimming, yoga, etc.

I was going to say declutter Marie Kondo style!

That's the one thing I wish I'd done.

Also gym with pool is a great shout.
