How to cope with diarrhoea?

I’m just over 4 weeks and have been really struggling with diarrhoea, I don’t know how to cope with it, it’s so upsetting and I’ve had to come home from work today. I haven’t eaten a single thing today because I’m scared of it but it’s still happened.
It’s constant and has been for the past 3/4 and I feel it’s set to continue, is this like a type of morning sickness?
If anyone has experienced this, please tell me how did you cope?

I don’t think it’s a normal pregnancy symptom but I used to get it when due on so could be just early pregnancy for you. Or you could have a little tummy bug.

It’s important not to get dehydrated so lots of liquids xx

I have had it now since I found out and that's 3 weeks!!! It's horrendous. Been to doctor twice and they just said it's normal as the uterus as it expands put pressure on your bowl. I'm 7 weeks!

I'm 13 weeks now and have had it on and off for the whole pregnancy.....to the point that I have had to run/shuffle up the street and 'sprint' straight up to the bathroom without even shutting the front door a couple of times and it's been touch and go whether I'd make it (I did, thank God).
So I can definitely sympathise.
I told my midwife and she wasn't overly concerned as long as I was drinking plenty so not dehydrated.

I’ve had it this time but not with my first pregnancy. One thing I learnt when I had food poisoning some years back is eat, if you only put liquid in then you only get liquid out. I’m now 11 weeks and it seems to have calmed down for now at least.

Well, it's ok for midwives and doctors to not be concerned when it's not them worrying about making it to the bog. Drives me mad that does.

OP go to your GP and don't let them fob you off with that old shite while sending you on your way. Specifically ask if you can take imodium short term until your bowels behave and if not, why not and what can they suggest. It'll open the door to that conversation if they think you'll take it anyway. They need to give you suggestions.
