Hi, I’m 37 and found out I am pregnant this week! I’m in happy shock Smile, but wanted to see if there was anyone else of a similar age, going through the same thing? Thought it might be a good space to share symptoms, experiences and any other info etc! Xxxx

I'm 38 and DH is 40. I am 12 weeks with our first baby. Still slightly freaking out at the reality of it all, and the massive upheaval to our lives, but hey ho hopefully my brain will figure it all out in the next 6 months

Hi I'm 37 and 16 weeks pregnant. I had my first and only child 20 years ago so I feel like a first time mum all over again Shock

Had nausea from week 6. On meds for it still which was a lifesaver as the nausea is so debilitating. Food aversions have been horrific and have meant that I've lost 8lbs so far. My mood is great though, I haven't felt hormonal or had mood swings. Have felt baby move since week 14.

So far it's going really good overall. Found out we're having a boy Smile

Congratulations to all you ladies. I’m 44 and very unexpectedly pregnant with my 3rd (am 15 weeks) but my 2 children were also “geriatric” pregnancies as I was 37 for child 1 and 38 for child 2. None of the various medical professionals have batted an eyelid this time round - I do have heath issues (diabetes and high blood pressure) meaning i need closer monitoring, but they’re pre-existing conditions that I had for my other pregnancies too. My nuchal scan, I did detect a slight tone of caution from the sonographer when he told me he would be going to get my blood results and do the calculations, but the scan was all normal and the combined test all led to risks that were perfectly acceptable to me and better than in my first pregnancy. I’ve been very much taking things one day at a time with this one and keeping my expectations tempered (I had a miscarriage a couple of years ago after seeing a heartbeat at an early scan, and I truly thought that was my last ever roll of the dice and that I was well and truly out) but so far things seem to be progressing ok. I have found that my body has got better at handling some aspects over the years - eg my blood pressure was very volatile for baby 1 but is much steadier now.

Hi! I’m 36 and expecting my first! 10 weeks tomorrow. Hubby is 42 and it’s his first too. He’s gone in to full on freak out mode. He’s happy but worried about every little thing. I’ve surprisingly took it all in my stride. Have however got an early scan booked tomorrow just to hopefully calm him down and make him get a little sleep lol.
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Great to hear from you all and all hear your different stories! Hope you're all having a great weekend! My best friend, who lives abroad came to see me yesterday! Going to the pub and out for dinner and not drinking was super weird, and also having to check what you're ordering on the menu is a bit new to me! How has everyone's symptoms been? I'm coming up to six weeks and have a weird churning, sick feeling every so often, my boobs have got much bigger and my nipples are sensitive! But apart from that not not much else! What was everyone else's symptoms like at 5-12 weeks?! Xxxx

36 here, found out yesterday, when I tested because I felt awful. Only 4 and a bit weeks gone, and terrified that something will go wrong.

First ever pregnancy (and hopefully first baby) after 6 years of trying including failed fertility treatment. I really hope this is our little miracle.

Best of luck to you all for a healthy pregnancy.

Lucylou37 · 08/02/2020 18:23

@WhatWouldPennyDo massive congratulations and what a journey you've been on! You're not alone with the worry, but these are amazing, positive first steps! I am very new (and clueless to all
This) but here if you need to chatSmile xxx

Congratulations on your pregnancy @Lucylou37!
I am 37 and pregnant with my first (22 weeks). It happened quickly for us so I was very shocked and scared the first 12 weeks. But I think it’s better to just assume you’re the same as any pregnant lady and not focus on your age. You can’t change it so not much point.

The things I worried about I’m sure lots of people do anyway, miscarriage or chromosome issues. Try and take it day by day and don’t read too much about what can go wrong as it is often not helpful. Learn to trust the wonderful NHS and they have you covered in your appointments.

I did find morning sickness was bad 9-15 weeks for me. I took cyclizine and that really helped. Worried it was harmful to the baby but the NHS won’t prescribe it if it was.

I found eating bananas helpful, good snack and fills you up. Also I have an emeterm bracelet device that helps for the nausea pressure point in your wrist.

Once you get passed 12-16 weeks you start to feel normal again and then worry something is wrong as you don’t feel sick!! But again I have to assume baby is fine and just wait to grow.

Good luck with it all and huge congratulations x

Am 34 and 34 weeks with my first.
My partner is 54 and this is his 3rd! A wee boy this fine thou. He is panicking going back to it. It wasn’t planned atall but couldn’t be happier just worried about OH age! Anyone else partners gathered late? Xx

SunStruck · 09/02/2020 06:25

7 weeks pregnant and 36 years old with my first! Got pregnant really quickly when w restarted trying last year but ended in MMC that dragged on (retained products). When we could try again, we fell the second month again but had a blighted ovum at 7 weeks. This time around I've just been for an early scan last week and saw a heartbeat and measuring accurately for 6 weeks, so fingers crossed!

I'm really worried about chromosomal issues due to age, will decide on Harmony/amino/cvs further down the line. Next scan is next week 🤞

LTofBR3 · 09/02/2020 07:55

Hi! I'm 35 and pregnant with my first, will be 36 when born.
We had the 12 week scan last week and I was quite nervous beforehand but thankfully everything was fine with the baby and out scores all came out as very low risk which was reassuringSmile

Smiffette · 09/02/2020 08:15

Hey! Congratulations ladies Smile

I am 38 (39 in july) and nearly 8 weeks pregnant with baby #3. I have a 3 year old and 6 month old, so this was a bit of a shocker lol I'm feeling pretty good so far, just tired! I have been lucky enough to avoid morning sickness with my other 2, so hoping this is the same! X

Lucylou37 · 09/02/2020 10:57

Thanks for posting all your stories! And congratulations to you all! So interesting the wide range of symptoms (or not) that people get when pregnant (anxiety seems to be the most commonly shared Smile) Sending everyone lots of love and hope you all have great, relaxing Sundays!
