Wonder if anyone has used these products? Spritz for bits seems to have great reviews but it's so expensive!
Does anyone have recommendations? I read somewhere that you could make it yourself but I'm lacking in energy and would never get round to it! Thanks in advance

Boots do a spray called bottoms up it is about £10 so still pricey but cheaper that spritz x

I'll follow this as I keep seeing the adverts pop up on faceook!
I did google last night and saw the Boots one, its Natural Birthing Company I think.

Spritz for bits is absolute amazing and it isn't that expensive I would of happily paid triple the price for the relief and quick healing I got from my episiotomy.

I used expert midwife stretch mark oil, peri peri for your bits, spritz for your bits and no harm nipple balm. All the products are lovely but out of all of them I would get spritz for your bits in a heartbeat again. I had an episiotomy and it healed brilliantly with it. It's even better when your refridgearate it! It can also be used on c section scars, burns, cuts and grazes. In my experience it's worth the price

If this is something to use after childbirth, I bought a 500ml bottle of water with a sports cap, a bottle of tea tree oil and a bottle of witch hazel before birth. Drank the water so I had an empty bottle.

Into a washbag, I put the empty bottle, tea tree, witch hazel, clean pads and a fresh pair of underwear. This was my "toilet pack" (and easily refilled back in hospital room after any toilet trips).

When going to the loo, fill the water bottle with LUKE warm water (NOT HOT), and add about 10 drops of tea tree oil. When starting to pee, gently let that liquid pour out to dilute the pee, to reduce stinging in any cuts and then use the rest to give the area a wash - then just gently dab with toilet roll to dry - no need to wipe harshly.

Replace the pads as necessary in the underwear. Pour a cap of witch hazel onto the pads before pulling the underwear up. Both healing and soothing to the region.

Did these spritzes not interfere with stitches for those of you that had episiotomy? I just used witch hazel on pads but the midwife said it was basically melting my stitches early and slowed down my healing time

20viona · 06/02/2020 12:00

@leecee no it was fine! My last stitch which hung on was removed 2 weeks pp by my midwife. Funnily enough I went for a smear yesterday and the nurse said if I hadn't told her I'd had an episiotomy she would never have known as the scar is so neat and I'm 6months pp.

Thanks everyone, I think I might buy some, it sounds like it is worth it. Will pack a sports bottle in hospital bag too to pour over when having a wee!
@ToTravelIsToLive my next thing to look into was going to be Peri prep your bits, what's around and whether it helps, any thoughts on that?
Thanks

@Tambourine29 I only used it a handful of times as I kept forgetting! it's got rest good reviews but I can't pass comment as I had an episiotomy and didn't use it anywhere near enough. It does double up as regular massage oil so could also be used on your back during labour. If I could only buy 1 it would be spritz for my bits

I used 'Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Spray' (and cringed at the name). It was really soothing, the spray bottle worked any way up and I used it for hot sore feet in the summer and as a lovely facial toner! I am honestly tempted just to get some again for my face!

I also used a sports bottle filled with water to take the sting away from those first couple of wees.

@Badabingbadabum thank you, and you're right, what a cringy name!
