Braxton hicks

So I've been to the hospital today for reduced movements thankfully everything if fine, baby decided after 12 hours of silence she would kick whilst on the monitor 🙄.

I had mentioned to the doctor that I've been having painful Braxton hicks for the past 2 weeks and she said it was too early for me to be having them I'm 32 +1.. I've never had them in my previous pregnancies so am now worried the tightening and pain I get is something else. My stomach goes rock hard so I assumed they were BH.

Has anyone else had them at 32 weeks, when do they normally start?

I'm 32 weeks and just started to have BH. I spoke with my doctor who said is completely normal to be experiencing them now and not to worry unless they become frequent get more intense etc.

Also to add I've been in hospital twice for reduced movement and on the monitor baby was happily kicking away and totally fine. So I'm trying my best not to worry and counting down the last few weeks before baby arrives.

I’m 29 weeks and have been having strong BH for at least 5 weeks, everywhere on the internet, incl NHS says this is perfectly normal and expected (especially for 2nd pregnancies). I’m not concerned at all. They don’t hurt, but they are a little strange and uncomfortable!

No medical training here op, but to provide an alternative experience I had very strong BH with both of my pregnancies from 20 weeks to birth! I was majorly freaked out the first time but reassured by plenty of MW that it was the less common, but not abnormal. I would also have a rock hard abdomen whilst they happened.

I had complications in my second pregnancy and at that point they became a bit concerned about the severity of them, but they ultimately always calmed down.

Do seek a second opinion or call maternity assessment if you’re concerned though - don’t let a forum derail any worries you have without getting checked. Best of luck.

Thank you ladies, I've been ever so paranoid since I got home, thinking well if they ain't BH, then what are they?. When I have one it feels like a Sharpe period pain for about 30-60 seconds and a rock hard stomach. This is my 3rd pregnancy but the 1st time I've had them.

I have a growth scan tomorrow so will ask a midwife for a 2nd opinion, hopefully will get a little bit of reassurance.
