When can I expect to have my C-Section?

I'm 29 weeks + 1 and haven't had my C-Section booked in yet. I'm having one because I have inflammatory bowel disease and have had my large intestine removed and have been rejoined small bowel - rectum. My colorectal surgeon wants me to preserve my pelvic floor as much as possible just in case I need a pouch in the future, so a natural birth is completely off the cards.

But I've also recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, so I'm just wondering when I can expect to have a C-Section or if they're all at 39 weeks?

You should have a consultant appointment to arrange this. In normal circumstances they will do it as close to the due date as possible but I don't know if they would do yours a little earlier.

39 weeks unless there’s a medical problem with you or the baby requiring an earlier birth. You usually get the date around 36 weeks in my area

I got my date at about 35-36 weeks too and DD was born at 39+3. That certainly seems to be the usual sort of time frame.

You should get a notification of your consultant appointment by 32 weeks, then have the apt at 35/36 weeks, and have the section at 38/39 weeks however as you have underlying medical issues they may well schedule for 37 weeks.

Usually you don't get a date for your c section until you are 36wks. However I'm 33wks and last week, during a catch up appointment with my obstetrician, I provisionally booked my c section for the day before I am 39wks (16th March). Only reason I've booked so early is because I feel really comfortable with that specific obs surgeon and after a terrible pregnancy so far, I wanted to feel some control over at least one aspect of this pregnancy and birth - and he agreed with me. He's the most senior surgeon at the hospital and has hand held me a fair bit so, as long as all goes to plan now, he will be performing it.
Only way it may not be him is if I naturally go into labour before that date, which will turn it into an emergency c section and I'll have to take whoever is the operating surgeon on that day.
