So I have a big family wedding 1 weeks after my ELCS (not until July). My family all know so at best they know I will turn up, sit and eat and leave!! Do you think you would have been up to it?
I had an emergency CS 5 years ago and due to the different circumstances last time it’s hard to know whether it might be do able or totally ridiculous to even consider!
Honest opinions please! (Like I say, I don’t expect to do anything but sit, feed (probably cry) eat and come home!) xx

I took longer to bounce back after c-section number 2. One week in I'd only been home for 5 days, I was wearing pajamas 24/7 and just about managing to feed, Ds1 (who was 5) and myself in the day, we watched a lot of TV, a friend came round and cleaned for me at about 1 week in. She peeled me a load of oaranges and put them in the fridge for me to snack on. Dh would come home from work and make food at night for us all. Don't commit to it.

I will definitely only be going if I feel up to it, if there is any doubt due to pain/hormones/feeding/tiredness/everything else that happens, I won’t go. Thanks all, so lovely to hear everyones experiences and advice xx

If you feel okay to go when the time comes, at least use a wheelchair and have DH push you. Then there’s very little physical risk. The wedding party and guests will understand. Have an exit planned if things do become too much.
You might be feeling wonderful, you might also feel like you’ve been hit by a freight train and have to miss the day! Be prepared for both outcomes, but don’t risk overdoing it.

I definitely won’t over do it. If I go I plan to have someone do my hair and make up, DH will drive us, I will walk into the venue (all held in one place (almost 8 years so the day when we got married there!!)) sit for the ceremony, stand for a photo, sit for the meal, come home. And that is all best case scenario! Definitely don’t think I will be doing YMCA on the dance floor!! More like crying in the corner!! And that is ONLY if I feel up to it on the day!! Xx

Everyone recovers differently, I consider my recovery to be pretty good. 2 weeks later i feel pretty much back to normal (physically - minus lack of sleep) I think if it was a close family member I would prob would have been able to go but not for the whole day, but that being said I had decreased my codeine amount to only one day instead of 2 every 4 - 6 hours as they just totally wiped me out.

Also, as someone has previously said my milk come in about day 5 and oh my god my boobs were horrendous - were so so sore and just leaked like crazy.
