Transferring hospital trusts at 23 weeks, anyone done it

So basically I've decided to have my baby at another trust about 30 miles away for various reason. Both current and new trust said this is fine but that I would need to transfer my antenatal care too, which is fine as I haven't been that impressed with the current one.

Has anyone else been in a situation like this and knows how long it might take? I'm meant to have a midwife appt in 2 weeks and have only contacted the midwives today. I can't see me getting an appointment at my new trust in the next two weeks personally but maybe I'm wrong and it will be super quick?!

I transferred Trusts about three weeks ago (currently 35 weeks); however they are in the same City so not sure if this made it any smoother? I went along to my Midwife appointment as scheduled and she swapped me over there and then and then any new appointment will be with new Trust. Maybe call new Trust and put some pressure on?

I moved cities in my late 2nd or maybe the third trimester with the first as I worked in a different place and lived somewhere else. They essentially treated me like a new registration. everything including bloods done all over and an extra scan. was still midwife-led birth so other than extra appointments then not a big deal.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I've spoken to my current midwives today who made it very clear they had no idea how to transfer me over. They stated that as I had all my notes and the midwife on the phone doesn't know me (I've only had 2 appts and each one has been with a different midwife so no one "knows" me) that she can't really do a referral.....

I then spoke to the new trust, specifically to the secretary of the consultant I want to be under, and she confirmed they would need a referral from my current midwife and gave me a fax number to give to them.

Current midwive team then stated that they don't fax anything! So I gave her secretary's name and number and asked what I should do know. She's suggesting I wait until my 25 week appt (in 12 days time) which I really don't want to do as I don't understand what's going to change in 12 days! The new trust will still want a referral/fax and the old team still won't know how to do it!

Can either of you shed any light on the process through which you were transferred?

I moved house when I was 29 weeks I registered with the GP and they got in touch with the hospital straight who called me the next day to do a scan as they wanted to do their own scans and got me to see a consultant coz I was consultant led care - I had a letter from me previous hospital to take but all the info on it was wrong so I didn't bother - the new hospital were brilliant!
