Learning to drive when pregnant

Hi all. Has anyone learned to drive and took driving test while they were pregnant? I passed my theory test two months ago and i was planning on starting the practical lesson this year but now i am pregnant i don't know what to do? It also scares me the thought of having to rely on busses once baby arrives.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

I did !!!

I had my first lesson just before I found out I was pregnant and passed my test at around 6 months pregnant (first time Grin)

My huge bumb and I just got on with it. It gave me more of a reason to stick with it because I knew that my life would be easier if I could drive when baby was born. It was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and ds.

There’s no reason you can’t. Sounds like it would be really fab.
I don’t know if you still do emergency stops in the test but you need to tell the instructor & examiner you’re pregnant as you shouldn’t do them during pregnancy.

I've got this issue too, I can drive but never took the test for full licence as I hate driving, gives me huge anxiety, but I know I'll have to conquer it before baby arrives. We can do this!

I had lessons while pregnant, but failed the test. With one thing after another I didn't start lessons again until DD was 8months. It was a real struggle to fit lessons around a baby, I could only book them when DH could guarantee not being at work.. the instructor blocked off the 8-10am slot on a Saturday for me in the end! I passed the day before she turned one (and unknowingly pregnant again!)

Pregnant is definitely preferable to newborn.
In the tests, some examiners won't make you do an emergency stop, but you can't refuse to do one if they ask without failing- but that was 9 years ago.

I passed my test six weeks before ds was born. I was huge! On the day of the test, the examiner questioned my instructor on whether he thought I was fit to carry out all the manoeuvres such as proper observation when reversing etc. But in the event, I passed anyway.
Best thing I did. I started lessons in June, passed in September and had dd end of October.

I started learning just before I found out I was pregnant and then I passed my test when I was 7 months pregnant! It was such a weight off my mind to get it over and done with before I had my baby. It's definitely possible.

My friend passed at 37 weeks with dc3!!

How strange. Pregnant women are allowed to drive if they've already passed their test, nobody would be assuming you couldnt manoeuvre your car properly just because you're pregnant! Why would it be any different during a driving test?

OP I know 3 people who have taken their test while heavily pregnant
Much easier to learn now than with a newborn in tow!

My Mum passed her test at 9 months pregnant. Seeing her driving ability now I think the examiner just wanted to get her out of the car asap!

I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and got my second practical test at the beginning of March (I failed my first one but nothing to do with being pregnant) apart from being a little difficult to lean forward to see out of junctions etc it's pretty much the same, when booking for the practical test you can tick a box that asks if you will be heavily pregnant at the time of test. They can still ask you to do an emergency stop but if your midwife is OK with it then it's no different to if you had to do an emergency stop in a real life situation.

I want to do this also. Good luck op

I passed my test at around 38 weeks pregnant. I think in some ways it helped because I was much more relaxed and less anxious than I am usually. I think the late pregnancy hormones might have made it easier. You can definitely learn and pass while pregnant.
