Did the sonographer offer to tell the gender ?

Did your sonographer ask if you would like to know the gender at your anomaly scan? X

My hospital don’t tell. They used to have very lengthy signs up explaining what the purpose of the anomaly scan was but they’ve now been replaced with signs saying it’s not policy and please do not ask.

Yes, it varies with Trust area. And bluntly (based on the three different places I've had anomaly scans) I think one of the things they may take into account is whether the catchment area for that hospital/trust contains ethnic communities who have a strong preference for boys and where a pregnant woman might be put under familial pressure to abort a girl. Hence a blanket policy of not telling the sex at the anomaly scan.

Mine did all the medical measurements first, then right at the end asked "is there anything else you'd like to know?" in a way that was obvious she was talking about the sex she did also warn us at that point that it might not be possible to see because of the baby's position.
