Hey!

I'm constantly worried I'm not eating a diet healthy enough for the baby. Anyone else feel this way???

Looking at taking some fruit and veg capsules from juice plus but wondered if this is the way to go?

Now I'm in my second trimester I can eat so wondered if anyone had some tips for eating healthy?

I'm quite a lazy cook. Not a fan of cooking so like quick food if anyone has any recipes??

Thanks in advance

I don't think juice plus is suitable for pregnant ladies. I know Herbalife and slimfast arent due to the amount of vitamin A.

Try not to worry- I ate only beige carbs in the first trimester as everything else made me sick- I'm lots better now and have been able to limit my unhealthy foods and eat lots more vegetables :)

Ps my fave thing to take to work is many variations of vegetable pasta with a pesto sauce - mega quick to prepare and use whatever is in my fridge. Usually spinach, broccoli, sweetcorn and peas- yummy :)

I wouldn't take any supplements unless they specifically say they are suitable for pregnant women. Also if youre taking pregnacare etc make sure any other supplements don't mean you're "doubling up" on some vitamins.

Just eat plenty of veg, eggs and fish, make sure you're getting enough iron (I take spa tone) and take a vitamin d supplement as recommended by the NHS.

I lived on oven fries for most of my pregnancy because it was the only thing I could stomach. Baby is fine!

Thanks for starting this thread, I'm looking for tips too, especially healthy snacks! At the moment I snack on a handful of almonds or fruit but would be keen for any other healthy ideas. For quick meal ideas we often have roasted veg mixed into couscous (made with a chicken stock cube) really tasty, quick and healthy. You can just buy veg trays that you put in the oven if you don't wanna do the prep.

It's hard not to worry about not eating healthily enough but I think I'm just going to try to eat my 5 a day, fiber where I can and still have chocolate and things like that now again. Searched the NHS website for what I need to avoid and not listening to anything else - so much contradictory rubbish on the internet.

As for vitamins, not taking anything but pregnacare. I know some people don't think it's worth the money but I think it's been working for us.

I'll be honest I've ate a lot of shite during my pregnancy so far. Stayed away from the main things nhs said to of course, haven't drank a drop of alcohol. But I'm 39 weeks now and I craved hummus and pitta for 4 days in a row and my Lord I ate it.

Don't be too hard on yourself

First 20 weeks of my pregnancy I lived off basically oat cakes, crisps and toast as that is all I could try to keep down with severe hyperemesis and a lot of vomiting. I've managed to eat better since then more fruit veg and meat but now craving sugar so trying to limit that. So far baby is just fine and consultant and midwife are happy.
